REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, Yogyakarta - Yogyakarta Municipal Government plans to provide hotspot service to communities around the village from 2012, especially at night by utilizing bandwidth owned by the government.
"We have a large enough bandwidth and it is only used during working hours only, so we plan to expand their use to the communities around the village at night," said Head of Information Technology and Telematics Sukadarisman Municipality of Yogyakarta in Yogyakarta on Wednesday.
According to him, residents in each village will be able to use hotspots at certain locations starting at 16.00 am until 06.00 pm.
Before expanding network of hotspots across the village, the government will have tested the service in five villages, although until now the government has yet to decide the five villages which will undergo trials.
"We still continue to conduct sampling to determine the five villages which will undergo trials hotspot. Next year, it will be trial and error," he said.
Sukadarisman said, there would be no obstacles to infrastructure can implement these programs because during this time, the whole village office in the city of Yogyakarta is also fully equipped with a hotspot.
